Debt to Dollars Episode 10 - Black & Fly ft Hannes Nose

G: Yo whats up everybody! This is your boy Godfrey Elder and this episode ten of Debt to Dollars. Of course we got a special guest Hannes Nose.

G: Whats good brother.

H: Whats going on son?

G: Welcome to the podcast. So just tell the people a little bit about yourself you know they might be wondering who you are. Some people do know. Reintroduce yourself for those who don't know.

H : Well my name is Hannes from Corona Queens. Really not much to say. I work as a nurse but by day. By night Im a self made entrepreneur, thats all. I’m an idea man. So yeah.

G: Thats good, yeah.

H: I’m an idea man so.

G: Thats good yeah. I agree about that. You have a lot of good ideas that are definitely inspiring. Um, One of which, black and fly you know you show people the shirts that you made man

H: Black and fly

G: Yes

H: You know the first product, many more to come.

G: Yes

H: Alright

G: Now the whole concept behind black and fly you know. This is something that I know but just to reiterate because every time theres you know there is something important that  I get from you when you express your ideas. So, Tell me about it.

H: Well, this came to me as something down where not enough minorities especially men  are not traveling. You know they stay within their own confines and neighborhoods so I'm a firm believer the more you travel around. The more you can expand your mind so its something just to motivate and inspire people to get out there and you know travel the world. And just be dope doing it.

G: Good good good, so  of course theres the instagram page. You know how long?  When did you start it? And whats your following like?

H: I casually started it in September. September I casually started it. To be honest it'd be days that I forgot I have it so.

G: Yeah

H: So, but for some reason its got up to about fifty five hundred followers organically. You know a lot of likes. I created the black and fly hash tag and so far and theres about five hundred  photos tagged with that hashtag alone. Right, I get e I get direct messaged, I get tagged, I get um emailed people showing me photos they want to profile on my page.

G: Right right

H: Yea man so now looking towards aggressively marketing it  and trying. To see where I can get it to go,  so you know.

G: Good well I think its definitely a long  time coming because I remember I traveled a little but you know um just keeping up with you dude.  Its like every other week you was in London or Paris. Look I know you travel a lot what has been some of your favorite destinations . You know what I'm saying that you've been to?

H: Um favorite is something dependent on how you feel

G: Yeah

H: If you just want to relax you know I'm not going to  go to London to relax. I'm going to go to the Caribbean you know an island or beach some place where I can move in slow mo. Have a drink and you know unwind. So if you want to talk about relax. I've been to Jamaica a few times I really like it over there um.

G: West Indies

H: West Indies the food is great.  The women are beautiful you already know

G: Yeah Of course yeah

H: You know Dominican Republic was nice. Bahamas was alright but I guess that was more so the company I was with. Lets see. Its quite  a few places Mexico,  Cancun was cool Ive been there what I've been there twice and  yeah you know I enjoyed it. But  like I said it all depends on what you're looking for with your budget  and what you want to do and who you're with. You know I mostly traveled all by myself so you know I move to the speed of my own drum. But when you travel with a lot of different people. I've  come to find out people who don't really get out, are very extra about it. I travel like I can always come back.

G: Yeah

H: So if I miss something its alright the second time around  I can come back. But you have people who don't who can get out once or twice they want to experience  everything

G: Yeah

H: And you know another thing you've noticed if you go to my instagram page I have no photos up there. I don't do it to impress other people. I do it for me.

G: Right

H: You know so yeah man

G: Good good

H: But yeah like I said this product is really more so for inspiring people. You can go by yourself. like look what happened today met some young ladies that have passports but haven't ever been anywhere. Why? Cause they're scared to go by themselves. I understand as a young woman you're scared to go by yourself but.

G: Yeah

H: As long as you wait you’ll never go anywhere. Tomorrow is definitely not promised man. Its get up and go you know if you're really feeling unsafe go with a travel group. You know you got apple vacations, you have others even on Groupon . On Groupon you have a whole bunch of um vacations by I think her names Jessica and she does curated trips where you’re with a group. Go on a cruise.  You're on a boat you know

G: Yeah absolutely

H: And if you go on a cruise by yourself you're going to meet other people you have a group of people that you can hang out with so you won't be by yourself but we got to get out of the mindset of you know don't get me wrong I was there I've never made. I was stagnated by because I wanted  to be with my friends. These are my friends.

G: Right

H: But  sometimes your friends will hold you back

G: Yeah they be like yo we going to the cruise or  in June. You know what I'm saying its like march. Yo you buying your tickets? Did you book it? Nah, yeah ill think about it. You know they kind of leave you hanging so I totally feel you on just biting the bullet and going alone if you know if you're safe enough to do so. You know sometimes  thats a safety  issue going to a foreign place that you've never been before a lot of issues you know a lot of warnings

H: Well thats why another reason like my hope is to expand tis to curated travel to trips into countries around the world you know. Develop relationships with airbnbs, hotels, resorts, um excursion companies

G: Right

H: Create packages low cost you know a few months  out give you time to pay it off a piecemeal, hundred dollars every few weeks.  You know everybody. Listen if you can afford to go to the club . Listen if you got an iPhone you can afford  to travel man.

G: Right Right

H: You know so no excuses put a little money to the side four or five day curated trips and um so people can go out  there and get to experience the world man. Like you really don't know whats going on until  you really get out there.

G: Right

H:You know you can't learn everything from google and tv

H: Call it what it is

G: Absolutely yeah

H: You know thats the experience somebody is presenting to you thats not yours

G: Right right

G:You know So in a nutshell some you know you're trying to push this forward so people can have their own experiences and share within themselves or for people who don't have a travel experience to uh you know add that to their lifestyle or you know scratch that one off the bucket list.

H: You know exactly

G: No doubt

G: Well  tell everybody how they can reach you . You know the whats the best way to get in touch with your support.

H: Well to be honest um for this particular we are black and fly you know thats the name on instagram. Um the website if you want to purchase a t-shirt  or you know  its black and fly . Com if you got pictures. That you want me to pulse for you . Hashtag black and fly. Thats it. You know thats the best way to get at me.

G: Alright

H: Alright

G: Hannes nose live and direct. Thanks for tuning in this episode ten of debt to dollars. One love, Peace. There you go.

Debt to Dollars Episode 9 - The 365 Effect

Yo whats up everybody, its your boy Godfrey Elder and this is episode nine of debt to dollars. Thanks for tuning int. The 365 affect yall. Are you happy with your life are you content.  Are you 100% satisfied with the way you feel and how you are perceived out there in the world. If you are listen, hit me up let me know how you got there. I'm still learning and I would love to hear your story. If you're not, I wanted to introduced something you call the 365 affect.

So there’s 365 days in a year if you have which a life analyze which you did the last is a 365 days and let me know. If you unhappy with your life, if you are unsatisfied you gotta realize that you spent the whole 365 days last year working passively and actively to get there. So if you’re 100% satisfied keep doing that. Keep growing and living a process. If you’re unsatisfied with the way things are going in life something’s got to change.

Making one shift is not enough. It’s a daily shift, its a constant shift. It's a lifestyle . Also if you want to be somewhere year from now. Think about one year from now how you want think, how you want to be, how you want to live. Map that out. Figure out what you have to do for then next 365 days to get there. You know I feel like a lot of people more powerful than they lead themselves to believe. Sometimes believing in yourself is not enough. I was told that belief is a poor excuse for experience.

So if you experience something and it makes you feel satisfied. It makes you feel happy from inside and is benefiting you. Repeat that process repeat that experience. Sometimes you could believe is so much but without the action there will be no experience to back it up. So for the next is a 65 days become a something that you can do. Don’t put too much on your plate. Then again there is so much on your plate time to get a big plate. Invite somebody to dinner. The next 365 days can be crucial and also to learn a lot from reflecting from the last 365 days. This is episode nine y'all thanks for watching, one love, peace.

Debt to Dollars Episode 8 - Attitude of Gratitude

Yo whats up everybody, its your boy Godfrey Elder and this is episode eight of debt to dollars. Thanks for tuning in. Gratitude yall! What does that mean you?Yo man I be walking around just do my thing and sometimes I just can't help but to smile and be thankful for just life. It really plays my head sometimes because other times I feel like I'm the only one this just like really tapping into that vibe when I'm in the room. So I feel different a lot man.  It really bugs me out. I’m going to share something with y’all. Back in New York City I used to go to the post office all the time.

I lived in Queens College point and I'll be at the post office and it just be a big line. And it seems like you know is is that time where everybody wants to get something sent.  And you know this like four windows and one person working and everybody's just angry, is really salty. You got things to do when complaints to make and manages to notify that you know this happening! I mean I just can't help us smile an sit back and vibe out to my music when I observed this because you know I look at it like you know when a post office. Some people out there don’t even have addresses. You know what I mean? So perspective is crazy. It causes me to be thankful. Sometimes when like at the restaurant eating, people shipping out because the food is taking too long. As long as its gets there, it gets there.

There’s always other people that's out there who really don't have much to eat.  Even in times that are unfortunate, I find ways to be thankful because I know that my problems can somebody else’s solution. So for example if you wake up on the wrong side of the bed be very thankful that you have a bed to wake up all better yet just be thankful that you woke up. Let me know your thoughts on this one y’all.  Cause this one I live with every day not an it really trips me. I want to know am I the only one that feels this way or is there any other way to look at the situation? It’s about gratitude and being thankful. Thanks for watching, one love, peace.

Debt to Dollars Episode 7 - FWUCS

Yo whats up everybody it your boy Godfrey Elder and this is episode seven of debt to dollars. Thanks for tuning in. This episode is about appreciation. More specific on appreciation it's about giving people flowers while they can still smell. When I say that I mean literal flowers. I mean like you can go out and buy someone a flower or just pick it up, they grow all around us. Just give it to them. Because they mean something. Or give it to them for no reason at all.  See their reaction. It could be anyone in your family, friend, male or female. A lot of times we we get so caught up in the everyday struggle, in our lives in a society on our culture we forget that this body this life is temporary.

We tend to overreact. We tend to give ourselves too much importance that we don't focus on the loved ones or lessons or the blessings that are around us. My good friend Hannes, he sent me an email. It played with the balance of living every day like it's your last and living every day like it's someone else's last. That really hit home for me. When you live every day like it's your last, I believe that it's coming from a self-serving point of view. You’re trying to just take the most that you can out of it because maybe you haven't really been living in real life. You’ve been just existing.

But when you live every day like someone else's last that's more of an empowering point of view to have its more of service-based position where you see the greatest way that you could benefit that person. By a thought, a word or complement, a gift, compassion; and then you bestow that upon them. So I really love that email because help me to understand that not every day you have to live like it's your last, someday it could be someone else's last. This is reality. If you got someone that supports you out there be it a family, friend, or stranger. Shout out to my strangers out there. Appreciate them. This is debt to dollars episode seven. One love, peace.

Debt to Dollars Episode 6 - Being You Is Enough!

Yo what up everybody its your boy Godfrey Elder and this is episode six of debt to dollars. Thanks for tuning in. I’m at the Houston Toyota Center. About to see Puff Daddy, The Lox, Mase, 112 Faith Evans. Its a huge concert thats going on right now. I just want to take a quick time and let you know that be you is enough.

You’re going to have people that will love you. You will have people that will hate you. But no matter who you are or where you are. your going to fall down and your going make mistakes in your life. Everything that happens is either a blessing or a lesson.

So just be yourself and remember that being you is enough. Now don’t take that too far and try to be negative and use that as an excuse and say this is who I am. Take ownership of who you are. Work hard on your character and build up your self-esteem.And remember, believe in yourself. Being you is enough. Thanks for watching, One love, peace.

Debt to Dollars Episode 5 - Execution

Yo whats up everybody it's your boy Godfrey Elder and this is Debt to Dollars episode five. Thanks for tuning in. This episode is about execution. Doing what needs to be done. Whether its as business or personal. If something needs to get done just got there make it happen. Its easier said than done but it’s easier thought than said. So if you can manifest it in your head first, do it second. So if it’s a conversation that needs to be had on a one on one level, great way to actually get that down is just to ask the person. Ay we need to talk to you free? You got five minutes?

And if their free and they have five minutes, get it done. If they are not free, well what's a good time that works for you?If it's a phone call if you want to talk somebody that you’re not on a one on one with, just pick up the phone and be at the other end of it when its ringing. Right. That's how simple it is. If they don't pick up, whats the worst that could happened? You could leave a message.Thats it! You still get your message across even if they don't pick up at least you tried. You know sometimes nature is a good way of providing we need. But nature doesn’t always come through for us.  Sometimes you gotta manifest the greatness inside yourself.

So a good example would be having a garden, for example. If you have a garden, and you’ve got feed your family in a climate where does it always rain, your family could starve. But unless you going to the back of the house and you got that hose, and start watering and that garden for as much as you need to. It’s going to bear that fruit, that vegetable, what ever needs to grow, because you put in that work. You just made it happened. Don't wait around for nature to help you, don’t wait around for others. Create yourown opportunities. There is a lot of success inside each and every one of us. This episode five y’all. Debt to dollars thanks for watching one love, peace.

Debt to Dollars Episode 4 - Dead End Work Ethic

Yo what’s up everybody's it your boy Godfrey Elder and this is episode four of debt to dollars This episode is about work ethic.  A lot of people worry about their dead-end jobs.  They complain that they don’t have opportunities to move up. So they sit, they sulk, they whine and they moan. They complain about there getting job it's part of our culture to do this. I don’t know why I honestly believe that is no such thing as a dead end job. There is only debt and work ethic.

I’llsay it again is no such thing as a dead end job there is only debt and work ethic. So, if you have a job where you let your boss or the pay sucks . Or you know, the passion is not there…  That's a test for you to pass because imagine if you had your dream job. What if your boss didn’t like you? You didn’t get along with your boss at your dream job. You know? Maybe the passion was in the beginning but it it got routine. You know you’re still going to have to persevere. So as you at this “dead end job” you know, really analyze work ethic skills.

If your artist and you work at office you know how many art ideas can you make up on your lunch break? Do you use your time wisely? If you're in sales and you meet people all the time, how can you connect that with your art passion. Some people just need to connect the dots right in front of their face because a lot of people I feel like a complaining and just getting nowhere in life. You know, its just like they keep buying new shoes but they will quit dragging their feet not really realizing that dragging the feet is whats ruining them in the first place. So this is episode four y’all. Remember work ethic trumps everything. Later y’al,l one love,  peace. Time to work.

Debt to Dollars Episode 3 - Paying and Investing Attention

Yo what’s up everybody it your boy, Godfrey Elder, and this is episode three of debt to dollars Thanks for tuning in. I had a 15 hour work day and I'm on in the parking lot about to go home so I decided to record this episode very quick for y’all.

So I’m going to get straight to the point. By the way Straight to the point is the title of my first book. Make sure you download it on Amazon.com right now.  So back to the episode. This is about the balance of paying attention an interesting attention. Now paying attention is something that you give up now for immediate return. It's your attention its your focus for right now. What are you getting out of it now?

Investing attention is something you’re giving up now but the return comes far later down the line. But often times if you invested wisely the return could be far greater than what you initially invested. That happens with focus. That happens with your intent. Your attention, it also happens with money.

Sometimes we get so stuck in paying attention because we always live in the present moment. Right? Pay attention! What’s happening now? What's going on? What’s going on right of right now around me. But time moves so fast all the time and the present moment soon becomes the past. So one way that I've learn how to stay ahead of the game is playing with the balance between paying attention an investing attention. Because when you become good at investing attention, you always are one step ahead.

Someone close to me at one point to me told me that nothing worth having comes easy.  That's so crazy because that statement to come easy but it was worth having.  That help me to shape my thought processes for investing for later on down the road. I hope this video helps y'all invest wisely pay more attention to is going on around you find an interesting balance between both. Thanks for watching y'all one love peace!

Debt to Dollars Episode 2 - 9/11 Where were you?

What’s up everybody's this is episode two of debts of dollars thanks for tuning in.  I want to send a special shout out to my twin sister.  Happy birthday girl! This episode is about bringing the sunshine inside you wherever you go. I got a lot of questions to answer. One of the most popular questions that I get is where was I in the day 9/11 We always want to speak about what we were doing that day. Sometimes that answer is a bit hard for the average person to handle but I’m going to share it with the world.

I really appreciate all the birthday shot outs that I’ve been getting on social media. You know how it is now days when is your birthday everybody wants to hit you up. So is really cool. Thanks for the special packages and social media stalking that goes on. I’m going to get into y’all. So September 11 I remember just being on two- day drug and alcohol binge or at least two days. I remember waking up in the staircase. Another flashes on the top of my high school. Another flash is just having a really good time. Shout outs to Sean Stephenson, Atlanta, they just sent me a text.

I appreciate the support. I'm having a good memory of just listening to rap music. A lot of Noreaga, Styles, Nate-Dog. You know it was that rap era so that was positive feeling that I have about my birthday. The majority was a dark place. I remember it was about September 13 when I found out actually that the World Trade Center fell. We were watching Spanish news and asked my friend translate to me what was going on and he told me that the World Trade Center fell on 9/11.  So thatgoes to show you the the dark place I was in. If you're from New York City or that area in New Jersey you can remember seeing clouds of smoke for months after the world trade center fell.

But it was a couple days in and I was just so out of it, I couldn’t even look up towards sky. I had no hope. I had nothing to live for.  This is about bringing the sunshine inside you where you go. Later on in my adulthood, I remember living in Australia. It was a really tough week in terms of whether. It was raining everywhere, the beaches were flooded, there was hail. I just remember walking to the mall by something to eat and this guy was like shocked. He said dude why you so happy? He didn’t say dude, he probably said mate.

He said hey mate why so are you so happy when the weather is so bad? and I just said a man sometimes you gotta bring the sunshine with you wherever you go. He said what you mean? I said sometimes people wait for the weather be nice so they could be nice. Sometimes they wait until people treat them well so they can feel well. Me, I don't wait on that anymore I just bring sunshine with whoever I go. I had a positive impact on him and and I want to share that positive impact with the whole world.  It doesn’t matter was going on in your life. What matters shine that you have within.  When you can learn to tap into that, you have a positive impact on the way your life is going to turn out. I want to send a a shot out to know the family and friends of the victims of 9/11. But ultimately, a shot out to anyone is going through something really tough right now.

Try to find the sunshine inside you and try to come out of this. I definitely believe that you got what it takes. It's crazy looking back now how I was on that day because sitting here right now the front yard just enjoying the weather, I am two years, two months, and two days sober. This episode two y'all of debt to dollars. Thanks for watching. Special shout out to Vanessa Kim, Sean, Lena, Jose and the whole squad.

Check me out on episode 3 y’all. One love peace.

Debt to Dollars Episode 1 - Lost to Luxury

I came from the hood, made it out the hood, now here's my story.

This is episode one of debt to dollars thanks for tuning in.

I know you’re wondering who I am. I’m a guy from Queens New York city born on September 11th.  A single immigrant mother on welfare raised me. We got sucked into the street life pretty early starting on the streets about the age of 12.

This is for people who grew up in a rough neighborhood. If you didn’t have much, if you’re from the ghetto, forgotten about, and don’t have a lot of opportunity, this is for you.

I've learned, saw, and done a lot of things you know that wasn't too proud of that led me to become a high school dropout. I work successfully actually to become the absolute worst version of myself. When I say the worst was myself I actually mean a liar, cheater, thief, an addict someone who's abusive, heartless, and eventually homeless.

I received a few wake-up calls. It came in the form of people events and thought processes that help me turn my life around. This debt to dollars podcast/YouTube channel is actually about that journey.

It's about the journey, the people, and thought processes that helped me, and the events that shape my life. I'm not a motivational speaker not a life coach, I’m just me. Actually my twin sister just text me happy birthday.. Tomorrow will… actually today right now. Well I just turned 31. What what!

Back to the story but anyways the reason why I changed my life is because I had a little spark of belief my heart. When I want to give up and I didn't feel like living anymore, I kinda believed that I deserve something better and I exercised that belief. I had a lot of friends and family help me along the way strangers too as well and I eventually turn my life around.

Here are 3 things that helped me. One is belief. Call it a will to survive. Call it confidence or whatever you want. I just believed in something greater. The second is your wake up calls. It is an external commitment to that belief rooted in action. Third it was my network.

I’m no longer homeless. Actually, I’m sitting in my own place. I live in a gated community. It’s beautiful to have a private gym, private swimming pool. Today I'm an author and educator and entertainer and a manager. I am really thankful for the people that helped me get here. Shout to my mom I love you. Happy Birthday to my twin sister Ramona. Shout to my brother Rich, hold your head you know hope you come up soon. Ultimately this is episode one. Welcome to my journey. Welcome to my life.

Any questions, y'all feel free to ask. Leave it in the comment box below, above, please share you know to spread positivity.
